Brad Meisner

Educational Gerontology (2014-2016)

Dr. Brad Meisner completed his BSc (Hons) in Health Studies and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto and continued on to York University to complete his MSc and PhD in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science. He also conferred a Graduate Diploma in Health Psychology offered by the Faculty of Health at York University. Currently, Brad is an Assistant Professor of Health Promotion at Dalhousie University in the School of Health and Human Performance. Brad’s professional interests are focused on understanding the concept of ‘healthy aging’ and exploring strategies to promote and protect health with aging. Brad’s work not only includes conducting original research but also public education and outreach. This practical and applied approach serves to advocate for the healthy processes of aging as well as to challenge the common misconceptions and stereotypes of “normal” aging. These educational efforts are targeted to middle-aged and older adults, health professionals, informal care providers, as well as undergraduate and graduate students.
