Ellie Berger

Social Policy & Practice (2015-2017)

Ellie Berger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Nipissing University and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology at Laurentian University. She is also an Associate Researcher at the Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging at McMaster University and Leader of the Aging and Paid Work Thematic Committee, part of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Population Change and Lifecourse Strategic Knowledge Cluster. She received a PhD in Sociology from McMaster University, a Master of Science degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of Toronto, and an Honours BA in Gerontology and Sociology from McMaster University. Her current research focuses on ageism, older workers, identity, gender relations, retirement, and work-family balance in academia.
